The Challenge:
American Cancer Society decided to challenge the fact that cancer was not on the U.N. global agenda. Though 60% of global deaths are caused by cancer, it was not on the list because it is not a communicable disease.
They brought in Root Radius along with several other partners to build a website that would capture global cancer stories to present to the U.N. global meeting.
The Results:
On the first day, world leaders unanimously adopted the Political Declaration on NCDs, agreeing that “the global burden and threat of NCDs constitutes one of the major challenges for development in the twenty-first century, which undermines social and economic development throughout the world.
